About the Book
Pauline Gilchrist wrote this story as a reflection of true life. The joy and tears of love between two people made her look at life anew. You will enjoy this book if you have ever loved and if you have ever fought for love.
This book tells the compelling story of a love found and seemingly lost and then found again. It is the story of 'hands across the sea'.
Read it and you will be drawn into the story of a girl's journey across the other side of the world and how she found her true love. It follows her plight and at its heart it promises us that we can find love and it will find us.
‘…..The hours were passing too quickly, but in a way it was good, we were spending our last hour laughing. Then the moment came, we had all secretly been watching the time knowing the goodbye was to come, the inevitable tears. 'Well?' I said taking a deep breath,' I suppose it is time, you don’t want to keep the pilot waiting.' We all stood up, the silence was deafening, as we started the walk towards the departure area. My legs were like lead weights and I knew the others felt the same. As we got to the bottom of the ramp that lead to passport control, the tears fell down my cheeks like burning rivers and I hadn’t said a word. I watched as James took her in his arms
and held her close, whispering to each other words of love, encouragement and comfort.........'
